Sound is the Other
Thing We Build

25+ years of professional audio engineering. Original productions, session work, and a career's worth of accumulated instinct for what makes sound mean something.

A Lifetime in Sound

Benjamin has been working with sound the same way he works with everything else — obsessively, precisely, and with a refusal to stop until it's right. More than 25 years of professional audio engineering work across production, mixing, and session contexts have built the kind of ear that can't be rushed and can't be faked.

Guitar has been his primary instrument across that span — decades of playing that inform the way he hears a mix, the way he understands how a song should feel before he touches a fader. That knowledge lives in the fingertips as much as the head, and it shows up in every production that comes out of the M&T studio.

The same precision that goes into building a paranormal research instrument goes into a mix. The same drive to get the thing right — not just good enough, but actually right — runs through every aspect of the work. Sound is not a separate pursuit from everything else Meat & Teeth does. It is the same pursuit, expressed differently.

"A good mix is invisible. You don't hear the work — you hear the song. That's the whole job."

Original productions from Meat & Teeth span genres and moods, informed by decades of listening across rock, blues, electronic, ambient, and beyond. Session work and mixing projects are taken on selectively — when the material is interesting and the collaboration is genuine.

Production & Engineering Services

M&T audio work is taken on selectively. We're not a volume operation — we're a craft operation. If you have a project worth making, we want to hear about it.

Rock Blues Electronic Ambient Acoustic Singer-Songwriter Instrumental Soundtrack Experimental
Mixing

Bringing recorded tracks to a finished, cohesive sound. Balancing, shaping, and making the space between the elements work as hard as the elements themselves.

Production

From concept to finished record. Arrangement, instrumentation, sonics — whatever the song needs to become what it's supposed to be.

Session Work

Guitar and additional instrumentation for recording projects. Decades of playing across styles means the part serves the song, not the other way around.

Original Music

Original productions from the M&T studio — instrumental, atmospheric, and occasionally something harder to categorize. Released when ready, not on a schedule.

Consultation

Production direction, arrangement feedback, and mix notes for independent artists who need an experienced ear without a full production engagement.

Custom Scoring

Music for film, video, games, and other media. The same precision that goes into every other M&T project — applied to picture.

Sound & the Investigation

The audio engineering background and the paranormal investigation work aren't as separate as they might appear. Both require the same fundamental skill: the ability to listen carefully, distinguish signal from noise, and resist the urge to hear what you want to hear instead of what's actually there.

That discipline — developed over 25 years of professional audio work — is part of what makes the Besjee Box's audio analysis capabilities possible. Benjamin's understanding of sound at an engineering level informs the way the instrument is designed to capture and process audio in the field. The ear and the instrument work together.

The Teensy audio platform being integrated into the next generation of the Besjee Box is a direct product of that intersection — dedicated high-fidelity audio processing for field investigation, built by someone who has spent a career understanding what audio processing actually requires.

The Ear Informs the Instrument

25 years of audio engineering built the ear. The ear informed the design of the Besjee Box's audio capabilities. The Besjee Box's audio capabilities are now being expanded with dedicated hardware — because what the investigation requires, the instrument should be able to deliver.

This is what Meat & Teeth Productions looks like in practice: disciplines that seem separate turning out to be the same discipline, applied to different problems.
